In Montana there are about 51 certified PSAPs (Public Safety Answering Points, or 9-1-1/ECC Centers) all are staffed by professionals who are highly trained and skilled in emergency communications. 911 Dispatchers require excellent emergency communications skills and the ability to work under severely stressful conditions.

A Brief Overview of Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
The ECC, 9-1-1 Communications Center is open 24 hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year, because of this all Dispatchers are required to rotate through all shifts, which are day, evening, and night (grave - overnight). If you would like the option of varied shifts with your busy life this job is for you! All 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Officers work weekends, and holidays. Overtime is only worked as required due to staffing shortages or vacation and sick time requests.
Specialized training begins immediately with a Communications Training Officer or Training Specialist. Training is primarily ON-THE-JOB TRAINING (OJT). You will not be released to work until you are ready to go!
